For many families, staying close while maintaining independence is the ideal living arrangement — and that’s exactly what our client Connie envisioned. A loving mum, she dreamed of moving into her daughter’s garden, surrounded by family yet still enjoying the privacy and comfort of her own space.

Her vision was clear: a fully self-contained 2-bedroom garden annexe that felt like home from the moment you walked in. She wanted an open-plan kitchen and living area for ease and sociability, a dedicated shower room for convenience, and a layout that would be both practical and welcoming. Most importantly, it had to feel like her own space — not an extension, but a home in its own right.

Our team handled all the groundwork preparation, ensured proper drainage, and coordinated all the trusted tradespeople, including electricians, plumbers, and painters.

Fitting a spacious 2-bedroom layout into a garden space while maintaining flow and comfort takes careful planning. We worked closely with the client and her family to design a bespoke layout that maximised both space and light. The open-plan kitchen/living area was designed to be airy yet cosy, perfect for hosting the grandchildren or enjoying a quiet cup of tea.
